If you are planning a trip to Thailand, you would have most probably heard of Holiday Pastry. But should you go out of your way to give it a taste?

Origins of Holiday Pastry
Holiday pastry is started by Inn Sarin Ronnakiat, a popular actor in Thailand. Some of his more notable shows are Wandee Goodday and The Miracle of the Teddy Bear. But in my opinion, him being an actor is just a side hustle. Inn is more known for establishing some of Thailand's most popular eateries, such as Holiday Pastry and Yolk to name a few. However, does the quality live up to its hype?
First Impressions ☝
When I went to their flagship store, the theme of the store was Christmas themed🎄. I must tell you, it is worth the hassle to come down to their flagship store. IT WAS JAW DROPPING😮 (not clickbait). The exterior was grand, beautifully decorated ON THEME. Fun fact about holiday pastry: the theme of their store changes for different seasons. If I'm not wrong during valentines day their entire storefront was PINK💘. It was honestly insane.
The interior was cozy, with brown hues all around. The vibes is as if a korean cafe, a good photogenic spot for both tourists and locals. However, do note that the placed is CRAMPED and is very crowded. The staff there will note down your name and your phone number should there be no more seats in general.
Taste😋
For this review, I tried out their O.M.G. Pie, the best cheeeeese tart, as well as the berries fizz.
O.M.G Pie 😮
O.M.G. is an oatmeal cookie pie with madagascan vanilla crème brulee, burnt caramel and tuile. A tuile is a french baked wafer with a circular shape. When cutting through the pie, you can tell that this pie is brittle, yet sturdy. And let me say this - the cross section is sectioning. On first bite, you get a strong note of the ice cream. Cold, creamy, sweet, while complimenting the texture of the crust. However I must admit that I didn't like the oat crust. Using oats as the crust made the overall texture slightly grainy, and the flavour of the oat crust definitely overpowers the ice cream. But it was still good, and we (my family) demolished it :]
The best cheeeeeze tart 🧀
this cheeze tart is holiday pastry's best seller. a buttery warm crust filled with parmigiano reggiano, blow torched to create a caramelised top. that, alongside a scoop of madagasgar vanilla ice cream, oh my oh my. this was definitely hitting the spot. its the warmth of the tart, together with the saltiness of the cheese as well as the slight sweetness of the ice cream that makes it to die for. it literally melted in my mouth, too good to be true. however, i dont eat cheese on a regular basis. so if you are like me, you might find it a bit too cloying, so do share it with others. but i ate it all up, no regrets
Berries Fizz 🍓
The berries fizz is basically what you would expect - berries and fizziness. the drink comprises of mix berries such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries if im not wrong, topped with a sprig of rosemary. the fizz was just basic sparkling water. to be fair, holiday pastry does sell matcha and coffee as well, however i have already quit drinking coffee by that point. if you are looking for something decaffeinated, you should honestly give it a try. however once you finish the sparkling water, you are just left with the seeds of the berries to chew.
Price💸
The O.M.G. pie was 350 bhat, while the cheese tart was around 290 bhat and the berries fizz was 150 bhat. in my opinion, this is definitely on the pricier side relative to the prices of food in thailand. i cant remember whether these prices consists of VAT or service charge, so don't come for me
My Two Cents 🪙🪙
In my opinion, i find that you should definitely try out the cheese tart. it really is the star of holiday pastry for a good reason. but if i could go back, i would definitely want to try their dubai chocolate as well, but i didnt oh well. however, i find that holiday pastry would be the type of place that i would go to once just for the experience. don't get me wrong, the food is definitely scrumpdiliyumcious. however, the kicker is the price tag and the price tag only. the one thing i like about holiday pastry would be the seasonal changes and the constant R&D to the menu. each visit would definitely be different than the rest. and with all of this, remember that this is my two cents - go once for the experience, return back if you are loaded.
and this is the end of my second overseas review! i know it has definitely been a while since i last updated this page, and my skills are definitely becoming rusty, im sorry im busyyy. but anyways, this is the first out of the many restaurants that i ate at in thailand. stay tuned for the rest of the reviews. thats all for today, bye bye
